CHAPTER THREE
At the Witches' Ball, the sister witches swoon over young warlocks, vampires and wizards. The witches are formally announced and walk onto the dance floor. A werewolf named Vale asks if one of them would like to dance. The witch sisters snicker that they wouldn't dance with a creature with hairy paws and a tail!
Just then Kiss is formally announced. Everyone gasps — Kiss is wearing pink! (The color pink is introduced in the art.) Kiss walks up to the werewolf and asks for a dance. They dance as everyone stares. The werewolf howls. Kiss howls. The sister witches leave, furious at Kiss for ruining the ball. Kiss and the werewolf dance, than walk on the balcony. She waves good-bye to the werewolf and bikes back to Coven Hall.
Kiss falls into bed exhausted and happy. Fugley curls up next to her. Downstairs the sister witches conspire to get back at Kiss for spoiling their night. They plan to perform a spell on Kiss that will make her nose long and covered in warts. But when they enter the room, Fugley wakes and launches himself at them hissing and spitting. The sisters are startled, not realizing Kiss has a cat—a strange colored cat. They retreat back down the stairs and summon the cat catcher. Kiss wakes and realizes what has happened. She gathers Fugley and takes her broom from the closet.
